The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22. A female with a dog on a leash was walking toward the jogger. He allegedly had to move from the sidewalk to the road to avoid the dog. As he passed, the dog lunged at him and bit him in the hamstring.
The victim also said that the dog’s owner was on the phone at the time of the incident and didn’t initially realize that he had been bitten. The female apologized and both parties went their separate ways.
After seeking medical attention, the victim thought it was best to report the incident to police. Animal Control has since identified the dog’s owner and is following up.
